Knighton, Ohio was settled by Welsh immigrants in the early 1800's. One of them was a vampire who sought new lands and holdings in the Americas. He quickly realized that frontier Ohio was not for him and packed up to relocate to New York City, a much better location for a vampire. However, having never sired and children in his mortal life and having lost his only fledgling vampire fifty years before coming to America, he turned five of the new settlers before he left. Left with only a letter explaining he would be back for them when he made his home in New York, the five eventually dispersed when no word came. One, Maelwys Griffiths, stayed for the longest time. The others scattered across America, tied together by the blood they shared. Each will have their own say in my books.

Also settling Knighton was Robert Goodman, or Robin Goodfellow of legends. He is a Pwca, a fairy similar to Puck in Midsummer Night's Dreams. Unaware that he followed in the footsteps of other immortals, he farms the land near Knighton, never aging, a glamour about him keeping the populace unaware that he simply doesn't pass along with all the others.

From the nearby farmlands, Ben Watts has grown up like all the other guys his age, raising a little Hell. His life is turned upside down when he is bitten by a werewolf and now spends his nights during the full moon hunting the local wildlife, not with bow or gun, but with claw and fang. It gets worse when the local Mistress of the City, a centuries old vampiress makes him her slave. Read his tale in Fiends With Benefits, coming July 2007 from
